We got our first winter power bill while running the propane heater. It's saved us $60 this month, and roughly $90 based on the average of the past three years' December bills. Woohoo! If I save another $340 this winter, it'll have paid itself back and definitely be worth using it.
And then I went to crank my car for an errand to discover the battery was shot and had to be replaced. There went $100. Bah. So much for what I'd saved...
But, according to the sticker on the battery, I got that thing in December 2008. Eight years of use out of one car battery. I guess I'm as good stretching a car batter as I am stretching a dime!
