Jackson Hewitt broke Federal law.
March 20, 2017 Monday
Unlike H&R Block and Liberty Tax, I actually had a bit of a neutral feeling toward Jackson Hewitt. They minded their own business, put out the industry standard sub-par commercials, and that was it.
Until the violated they CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.

Guess who got spammed by what company without permission?
Yeah, I know, not something "normal" people are allowed to get worked up over. But I hate spam. Especially when somebody is telling me to use them to do my taxes on an email they're not supposed to have. That's just very rude.
How in the hell did they even get my address? I've never used that account for anything but customer or IRS stuff. I certainly don't use it to contact competitors. The IRS probably passed it out. Again. I took my personal address off their website and my accounts years ago and I'm still getting tax related garbage.
